Painting by maritime artist Bill Abbott of the Buffalo, New York-built Lake freighter Lake Fernando, built for transporting goods to Europe during the First World War passing the Victorian era Jackknife Bridge over Michigan Avenue in Buffalo, New York. Spanning the busy Buffalo River from 1897 to 1929, the bridge bore witness to one of the busiest ports in the Great Lakes. Copper cupolas, red wind vanes, and an elegance of design unique to the Gilded Age, this image of an atypical bascule bridge will add beauty and interest to any room.
